foundlingmotherDiplomatic Marriage AU where Loki’s married to Thor to keep Helblindi (the new king after Laufey’s death) in line. Thor and Loki do not get along to begin with, but Loki seems obedient and quiet, if sullen, so Thor leaves him alone.
Whenever it rains–be that Thor’s fault or otherwise–Loki turns the storm into an icestorm, plunging Asgard into an inexplicable winter. No one knows it’s Loki. Crops are dying. Asgard doesn’t know how to handle such strange weather in the midst of summer.
Thor and Loki start to grow closer, but just as it seems the slow burn’s about to end, Thor finds out that the difficulties his realm has faced are all Loki’s doing.

Date: 2018-12-23 11:55 pm (UTC)I love the idea of Loki hating the fact that he's growing to like (dare I say, love) Thor. So as the time goes by he continues to hurt Asgard because he doesn't want to feel like he's submitting, specially out of genuine care for the prince of Asgard. He doesn't want to feel robbed of his only safe way of rebelion. And he can't make himself stop doing it but in the process he's hurting himself too because he keeps going over the moment when Thor will find out in his mind. And there is SO MUCH Loki angst.
